Have you thought about how a work at home business can help you live life on your terms?
If you are tired of the long commutes or spending day after day at a job that is not fulfilling, starting a work at home business may be just what’s needed!
Like many home based entrepreneurs, you probably have dreams and goals. You should ask yourself some important questions before getting started. While it may seem exciting to think about, the reality is that it takes hard work!
That’s good thing because what you put into your home business determines your results. And those results can be incredible!
When you are employed by someone you are trading time for money. No matter how hard you work, you still earn the same amount of money.
Starting a residual income business requires taking those steps out of your comfort zone and an investment in time. Having self-motivation and a positive attitude is a must too.
When I started my first home business a few years ago, I was determined to succeed and I did! I left my full time job 2 years later and have lived life on my terms ever since. It’s the best decision I ever made!
Let’s explore some key points about succeeding with a work at home business to see if it’s right for you.
Qualities of a Successful Home Business Owner
The best things about having a home business is that anyone can do this. You can develop the needed skills and qualities for success!
Self Motivation
With no boss telling you what to do, can you stay motivated on your own? What will keep you focused on achieving your goal and doing the daily activities to get there?
It’s your WHY, the reason why you start your work at home business in the first place. When you have an important reason for developing a home based business, that reason can help push you and become your inner motivation.
Without a boss hovering over you, think about whether you have what it takes to move forward day after day.
Working on Your Own
One thing I love about my home business is being part of an amazing team! But even though there are others to help support and mentor you in a home business, you are still working independently.
For example, there’s no office water cooler gossip or chit chatting over the office wall. It may take some adjustment but with a strong WHY, you can do it.
And, I always recommend that if you are presently employed, start your part time at home business while working full time. This is the best way to get started.
But when it comes to working on your home based entrepreneur business, you’ll be the one creating and initiating what needs to be done. Some of these tasks include finding people to talk with and share your new business with!
How bad do you want it?
How Responsible are You?
Being a responsible home business owner is a key trait if you want to succeed. If you work for an employer, you would likely get fired if you were not responsible.
When you work for yourself, no one will fire you or reprimand you. But you just won’t make any money.
You need to attend trainings, mentor calls, and get daily income producing activities completed!

The company I am with is amazing! We have so many resources available for learning and the team I am on provides even more.
Another aspect of learning is personal development. It’s what helps you create a mindset for success and step out of your comfort zone.
