Video: Creating a Success Mindset
1 – Willingness to Change
Ever feel like you are stuck inside your comfort zone? If you answered yes, it’s likely because you don’t have a willingness to change.
You may think you really want something in life, but if you are not willing to make lasting changes, how will you ever get it?
Henry Ford once said, “If you always do what you’ve always done, you’ll always get what you’ve always got.”
Creating a success mindset starts with developing new habits that can help move you along in life in a more positive manner.
What to do: Take a step back and make a decision about whether you truly are willing to participate in your own success. If yes, then start working on yourself through personal development. Start working on stepping out of your comfort zone one new habit at a time and practice daily.
2 – Develop Positive Self-talk
What was the last thing you told yourself in your mind? Our own self-talk can either develop or squash a success mindset.
How do you react when someone has something negative to say to you?
Do you focus on it for days and review it in your head? Maybe you start feeling bad and now you can’t get anything done!
I know exactly how that feels.
There is only one person that controls you and that is you. When you let negativity into your head, it will get in the way of your success and hold you back.
You can also limit the negativity that you allow into your mind. For example, I haven’t watched news on TV for over ten years. Life is still good.
What to do: Pay more attention to those conversations you create in your mind. When something happens, tell yourself it’s a temporary setback or situation and then keep moving forward.
3 – Surround Yourself with Positive, Like-minded People
Who do you hang around with the majority of the time?
Les Brown said it best, “If you’re hanging out with 9 broke people, guess who’s the tenth?”
This goes for most things in life. For example, if you want to live a healthier lifestyle but the people you surround yourself with are living very unhealthy, it will be more difficult for you to accomplish your goal.
The people we surround ourselves with affect whether or not we have a success mindset. There’s an energy and influence from others in any environment.
What to do: Start spending time with successful people that lift you up and support the positive changes you want to make in your life. Seek out those people who inspire you!
