If you could do one thing to change your life, what would it be? Learning how to find your passion in life is the first step in making changes.
Maybe you are making a good living right now but feel unfulfilled in some way. I get it, I’ve been there!
I always imagined a life where I could actually earn money doing what I love. Have you ever felt that way?
Life can become very empty when you go through the motions everyday:
- Get up
- Go to work at a place that controls your schedule, paycheck, and who you surround yourself with
- Come home
- Eat dinner, clean up
- Go to bed
- Do it all again!
It’s a bit robotic – at least it was for me!
A few years ago that’s exactly where I was. Feeling empty and unfulfilled with no real passion in my daily life experience.
So I decided to find my passion in life and start earning an income doing what I love. My life changed dramatically and today I am living life on my terms. You can too!
Today I am sharing 5 ways to find your passion in life!
Find Your Passion in Life by Believe in You First!
Life holds incredible possibilities for you if you are open to learning about them. As we get caught up in our lives we often don’t remember our true purpose or how to connect with the best version of ourselves.
Let’s solve that right now!
1 – Find your passion by slowing down.
The first time I heard the word, meditation, I envisioned sitting lotus style for long periods of time. Nope, that wasn’t going to happen.
I explored other ways to mediate primarily to tap into my inner self and rediscover my passion in life.
Taking a long walk or running was the perfect way for me to meditate. I always feel refreshed and more clear on my life path afterwards. I highly recommend it.
Here’s why it’s so important.
When you truly clear your mind you become more aware of what’s truly important in your life.
Staying mindful throughout the day always made a big difference for me. It’s all about being truly present in the moment. You can read more about that here.
Experiencing life in more positive and fulfilling ways without the noise of the outside world really helped me break through the barriers to my inner self.
Try it and start finding your life’s passion and purpose!
2 – Step out of your Comfort Zone and Get Over Your Fears
The great Eleanor Roosevelt once said, “Do one thing every day that scares you.”
That’s the best advice ever!
Fear can stop us from doing the things that can help make positive changes in our lives. So many people do not take action to make changes due to fear.
Instead, they come up with excuses to justify not taking the necessary steps to change.
Excuses are easy, aren’t they?
Easy isn’t always better, it’s just easier.
Taking the action steps to find your passion in life and make changes is hard work. You can do it!
Move out of your comfort zone into a life that you love.
Here’s what I mean. When I was working in an awful, hostile work environment that was depressing, it was a comfort zone that I had a tough time getting out of. Why? Fear of the unknown.
But I am so happy I took that big step in the face of fear and now live a life I love! You can too!
3 – What is Your Life Story – Yes you Have One!
Everyone has a story in life. Maybe it’s about how you were raised or life experiences.
Many times our life story continues to fester in self-limited thoughts that prevent us from moving forward.
You know, that little movie that plays in your head:
- I’m not good enough.
- No one will listen to me.
- I don’t have the smarts for this.
- I can’t!
Sticking to the same sad story will inhibit you from finding your passion in life because you don’t feel good about you!
Here’s my immediate recommendation: Change your story!
Easier said than done? Not really. Just takes effort.
Tell yourself this story instead:
- I am smart.
- I can do anything I put my mind to.
- I have incredible value to add to other people’s lives.
Work on a new life story to start living a life that you love. It all starts with you!
4 – Believe in Yourself
Many people have self-limiting beliefs that affect many aspects of life.
Have you heard this saying from Henry Ford? It’s so true! “Whether you think you can, or you think you can’t–you’re right.”
Without a belief in you, why would any other person believe in you?
I have a friend who doesn’t believe she has any value to offer or help anyone. But she does! She’s amazing but she doesn’t have that self-belief.
Finding your passion in life starts with believing in you and what you have to offer the world!
5 – Discovering your Passion in Life Should be Fun!
Do you have kids? If you observe them closely you’ll see how much fun they have every day. You used to as well!
Are you still having fun? If not, you still can.
When you earn money doing work that you love, it’s not like work at all.
Helping others realize their dreams in life and live their passion is fun and fulfilling. And the best part is that you can get to know and work with like-minded people.
Seriously if you are not having fun in life, it’s time to assess the situation.
- Are you happy?
- Is your life where you thought it would be by now?
- Where will you be in five years?
- Do you have a plan to get there?
- Do you have a plan to change that?
Finding your passion in life and doing what you love requires taking a good look at all aspects of your life. Then you can devise a plan to move forward.
When you align with your purpose in life, you can achieve anything you really want to.
